- This is the first total solar eclipse since 1979 and the next will be only in 2024
- The path of total solar eclipse will cross about 14 states but the total eclipse will be only for about 2 minutes at any one place.
- People are already booking camping sites near the places of total eclipse.
- This total eclipse is a rare event USA in that this will be right across USA, starting from Oregon in the west coast to S.Carolina in the east coast, and happening after 99 years.
- At any point the total eclipse will be only for about 2 minutes. This means that the shadow will travel at a speed of about 1500 km/hr, starting at 12.05 PM on the coast of Oregon and crossing S.Carolina coast at 4.05 PM.
