BM Güvenlik Konseyi üyeleri, Cuma günü İngiltere ve çoğu Avrupa Birliği üyesi bir toplantıda ABD kararını kınadılar.

22 Arap devletinin cumhurbaşkanı Kahire'de toplanan 22 ülkeden dışişleri bakanları , ABD Başkanı Donald Trump'ın Kudüs'ü İsrail'in başkenti "tehlikeli ve kabul edilemez" ve İsrail-Filistin çatışmasına "siyasi bir çözüm üzerinde açık bir saldırı" olarak tanıma kararı aldı.

Trump'ın İsrail yanlısı eylemini kınayan harekete geçti, az sayıda Arap ülkesi buna karşı aktif bir şekilde karşı çıktı. Birçok Arap ve Körfez ülkesine (GCC), Filistin artık ilk Arap meselesidir. Kalkınma ve özgürlükle ilgileniyorlar ve ABD'yi askeri açıdan karşı koymak ya da ABD'yi antagonize etmek istemiyorlar. 

Suudi Arabistan Girişimi:

Bay Trump açıklama yapmadan önce, İsraillilerle Filistin arasındaki barış inisiyatifi için bir Suudi önerisi , Doğu Kudüs'ün yerine Filistin'in gelecekteki başkenti olan Abu Dis köyünü, yaygın öfkeyi karıştırarak öne sürdü.

İsrail kaynaklarına göre, Filistin Devlet Başkanı Mahmoud   Abbas, geçen hafta bir toplantı için Riyad'a çağrıldıktan sonra , Suudi Arabistan'ın Veliaht Prensi Muhammed Bin Salman tarafından bir ültimatom verildi . Bin Salman ,ABD'nin talimatıyla Abbas'a Donald Trump'ın İsrail-Filistin barış anlaşmasını geri almak ya da istifa etmek zorunda kaldığını söyledi. 

 Arap ve Müslümanların Cevapları:

Dünya üzerindeki Arap ve Müslümanlar için Kudüs duygusal bir meseledir.ABD ve İsrail'e karşı dünya çapında spontane bir protesto yapıldı , ancak beklendiği kadar güçlü değil.

 Arap rejimleri ciddi değildir ve açıklamalar yalnızca kamu tüketimine yöneliktir, çünkü insanlar dünya çapında gösterildiği gibi açıkça öfkelendiriliyor. Bu konuda Arap Birliği'nden çok az şey beklense de, sokaktaki protesto ve şiddetle ve aşırılık yanlısı örgütlerden sürpriz saldırılarla uğraşmaya hazır olmalılar.

Filistinliler:

Filistinliler Doğu Kudüs'ü Filistin'in başkenti yapmak istiyorlar. Dolayısıyla, diğer Arap uluslarının geri çevirmeleri olsun veya olmasın, bunu reddedecek herhangi bir hamele karşı direnilecek.

However, there is an Alibaba Day, November 11, now known as the "11.11 Global Shopping Festival." 11.11 is the largest e-commerce day in the world, driven by the main Alibaba platform, Tmall. Alibaba has not only transformed consumer behavior in China, but merchant behavior as well.

This year’s 11.11 will see over 1 million merchants using various online and offline integrations. Some 600,000 mom-and-pop convenience stores and 30,000 rural service centers for its Taobao shopping platform are taking part, highlighting Alibaba-provided O2O technology upgrades for merchandising and inventory. JD (JD.com) is not sitting still, having announced an 11.11 O2O partnership with Walmart. Prediction: 2017 will establish 11.11 as the largest offline shopping day as well as the largest online day.

Alibaba promoted 11.11 internationally in 2016, but look for a major push this year. First, international awareness continues to grow each year. Second, Alibaba is increasingly integrating its Southeast Asia franchise, Lazada, into the mix. Of the 200 million gala viewers, some 10 million might be outside of China, and as a first, Alibaba will take 100 Chinese brands overseas, targeting the 100 million-plus Chinese diaspora. In turn, JD has announced free shipping to customers in Macau, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

JD and other platforms will be jumping in as well. Alibaba deserves credit for promoting this as a holiday starting in 2009 with 27 merchants, but everyone has joined the party. Uber to be off London Roads

London's Transport Regulator has said it would not  renew Uber's license when it expires on September 30. The capital's transport regulator said that Uber's approach and conduct was not fit and proper to hold a private vehicle hire licence.

The Regulator was not happy with Uber's approach in  reporting serious criminal offences, background checks on drivers and its software, called Greyball, that could be used to block regulators from gaining full access to the app.

Uber, which has 40,000 drivers and 3.5 million users in the capital, said it would contest the decision. Uber can operate until the appeals process is exhausted, which could take months.

Uber, a San-Francisco based start-up which is valued at about $70 billion and whose investors include Goldman Sachs, has faced protests around the world for shaking up long-established taxi markets.

The taxi app has also been forced to quit several countries, including Denmark and Hungary, and faced regulatory battles in multiple US states and around the world.

London's traditional black cab drivers have attacked Uber, saying it has undercut safety rules and threatened their livelihoods. Uber has been criticised by unions and politicians too and been embroiled in legal battles over workers' rights.

Uber has already appealed against the court verdict that granted two of its drivers rights such as the minimum wage bringing to the fore the battle between firms that promote the concept of "self-employed" drivers and unions accusing them of exploitation.

Uber has, however, announced a series of changes over the last few months to improve conditions for its drivers, including the introduction of in-app tipping and plans to increase some fees.

In India too Uber has faced a lot of criticism regarding its fare, high handedness, conduct of drivers etc.. It was first introduced in Begaluru and has expanded to 10 Indian cities. Even in India it came under the scanner of RBI for flouting its norms. Delhi government banned it only to be lifted by the High Court.

Surge pricing, meaning charging more during peak demand, used by Uber, and some others, were stopped after notice from the Delhi government.

As it acts only as an interface, through its App, between the user (customer ) and provider (taxi drivers ) it has managed to ride above all the criticism, so far. There has been lot of talk, by the governments, but little in action against Uber for the numerous complaints.

In India, in spite of some unsavory incidents, App or mobile based taxi services have a large client base, an expression of their displeasure to traditional taxi services.Through suitable modification to existing laws they can be made more accountable, and therefore, more dependable and reasonable.

Hillary Clinton for changing the electoral system

On September 12, Hillary's new book, "What Happened," hit the shelves. The book chronicles Clinton's loss in the 2016 presidential election and tries to explain why she lost the presidential election.

In an interview on Sept. 13, former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said it was time for the United States to change its way of electing the president and calling for a quit election.

 Hillary won more popular votes than rival Donald Trump, but Trump got more electoral votes. Mr. Trump obtained 304 electoral votes and won the presidency while Hillary won only 227 electoral votes.

In recent years, there have been complaints that the US presidential election system may not be fair, as it makes some votes more important than others. Under US law, each state has a certain electorate, based on its population. So a large state like California will have 55 electoral votes, while a smaller state like North Dakota will have only 3 electoral vote.

In her book, Clinton blames her election loss on Bernie Sanders, former FBI Director James Comey, the Russians, and even the mainstream media.

President Trump said "Hillary Clinton blames everyone and everything except herself for failing to get the required electoral votes, and Hillary lost the debate and lost her way. ". 


 

Meanwhile, some Trump supporters have trolled Hillary on twitter in one of which, an animated GIF created splicing together two separate footage, Trump swings a golf stick and the ball hits Hillary knocking her down.

NASA'a Cassini spacecraft has been orbiting Saturn for 20 years sending pictures and collecting data about the planet and its glorious rings. The spacecraft's  mission is now coming to a close.

"......But nothing lasts forever. Cassini is nearly out of fuel; if it runs out completely, the probe’s handlers won’t be able to control it anymore. So they want to dispose of Cassini before things get to that point, which is why they’re sending the spacecraft on a death dive into Saturn on Sept. 15........

Earth Quake In Mexico

An earth quake of magnitude-8.1 struck Mexico's southern coast on Thursday night (local time).

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said its epicentre was in the Pacific Ocean, 87 kilometres southwest of the town of Pijijiapan and at a depth of 69 kilometres.

At least 58 people have died.

It's been described as the strongest earthquake to hit Mexico since 1932. More here

According to the web site livescience.com,  a couple in South Carolina has filed a lawsuit against Amazon, alleging that the company sold faulty solar eclipse glasses that did not adequately protect their eyes during last week's eclipse.

The proposed class-action lawsuit was filed in a South Carolina federal court on Tuesday (Aug. 29), according to Reuters.

The lawsuit says that the couple purchased a three-pack of solar eclipse glasses on Amazon in early August. They used these glasses to view the solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21, which was visible across the United States.

They did not look at the sun without wearing the glasses, but soon after, they claim that they experienced a number of eye symptoms, including dark spots in their vision, blurriness and changes in perception of color, the lawsuit says. These are all symptoms of solar retinopathy, or damage to the eye's retina that happens from looking directly at the sun. Often, symptoms of solar retinopathy are temporary, but sometimes they are permanent.

Prior to the eclipse, Amazon did issue a recall of some of the solar eclipse glasses sold on its site. In these cases, customers received an email from Amazon saying that the company could not verify that the purchased glasses were made by a recommended manufacturer. But the couple say that they never received the recall email.

The lawsuit is seeking to represent people who, like this couple, claim they experienced injuries after using solar eclipse glasses bought on Amazon.

Nepal-China Joint Venture:

Himalaya Airlines, a Nepal-China joint venture airline, started its inaugural flight from Kathmandu to the city of Dammam in Saudi Arabia on Friday night.

The company said the airline will be operating a daily direct flight between the two cities to meet the strong demand from air travellers, especially Nepali migrant workers. 

With this new route, Himalaya Airlines would be able to cater to over 500,000 Nepalis staying in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, enabling many of them to rejoice with their families during this festival season.

Air India and Jet Airways also operate in this sector.
